The August 1998 meeting of the MCRCC will be held on Wednesday the 12th at 7:00 PM in the Cook, Inc. building located at 925 So Curry Pike.
HOT: Note to all: Phylis Naylor was admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery on July 6th as a result of a spider bite to her leg. The surgery went without incident and Phylis has since been released and is recuperating at home. Also many thanks to John and his son for getting the field cut and arranging for the fire department to water the road.

GENERAL: Attendance at last months meeting was 17.

The club airshow was very successful but attendance was down from years past due to the high temps and the opening of the Monroe County Fair. But, for the 75 to 100 that showed up they were treated to some good flying. Many thanks to all those who participated in this years show.

Tuesdays will continue to be Glider days as the number of sailplane fanatics continues to grow.

If anyone would like to buy a Club shirt or hat please drop me a line. The shirts sell for $21.50 and the hats are $9.00.

Another point of interest that has surfaced recently is flight safety. How often do you check your flight pack batteries while at the field? Regardless of how long you left them on the charger the night before, it pays to check them at the field periodically. One last sore spot to cover and that’s know your Transmitter's frequency number and make sure that it is affixed to the transmitter in some fashion.
