The October 1998 meeting of the MCRCC will be held on Wednesday the 14^th at 7:00 PM in the Cook, Inc. building located at 925 So Curry Pike.

GENERAL: Attendance at last months meeting was 21. This has been the largest turn out for a club meeting this year.

The club's annual picnic was held on Sept 27^th. Turn out for this festive event was rumored to be between 35 and 40. There was plenty to eat and fun was had by all.

Despite the heavy winds a few brave souls battled the elements without incident. Well... almost. Steve Jackson had his Gentle Lady blow into the fields across the road - and trampled by cows. In the words of our finest pilot, Dave Poland, "The wind is your best Friend." I'm sure that there are a few of us that would argue that point.

It is time again for nominations for club officers. If there are any of you who have aspirations of becoming a club political figure please contact the nomination committee of Bruce Hoffman or Dave Poland.

If anyone would like to buy a Club shirt or hat please drop me a line. The shirts sell for $21.50 and the hats are $9.00. I will have these items at the next club meeting.

Another point of interest that has surfaced recently is flight safety. How often do you check your flight pack batteries while at the field? Regardless of how long you left them on the charger the night before, it pays to check them at the field periodically.
