GENERAL:

October Meeting...

Our October meeting got underway at 7:01:10 with a pretty good crowd present (I gave up counting the people). We talked about the school class from Brown County that visited the field on September 21. A van load of teenage students and their instructor came to our field for a demonstration of model aviation and some time on the "buddy box". Members assisting were Mark Sexton, Charlie Thompson, & Brian Elliott. The big flood we had at the field on 10/5, which cancelled our picnic for this year, was another topic of discussion. The picnic will not be rescheduled this year but may be turned into a "Spring picnic" sometime in May. It was decided at the meeting to pre-pay for this year's Christmas dinner at Chapman's. The menu will be voted on at the November meeting. We also voted to buy some add space as a public service to a local hockey team. Look for an upcoming article on that. The meeting was closed at 7:46:40.

Christmas Dinner:...

The second Wednesday of December (12/13), which is our regular monthly meeting date, we will have our annual Christmas Dinner Party / meeting at Chapman's restaurant in Bloomington. We must let them know in advance how many people will attend, & what we want to eat. Get your plans together now and bring some money to the November meeting. We will decide on the menu and collect advance payment from those who plan to attend. It's too much hassle to collect money at the event and we have to commit in advance & agree to pay for "X" number of dinners before the food is prepared. We got real lucky last year when they didn't make the club pay for the people who didn't show up. It all needs to be a "done deal" in advance this year. If you wish to attend but can't make the November meeting, you can send your money to our club secretaty / treasurer, Brent Hoover at 3605 Cockrell, Bloomington, IN 47403. Brent's telephone number & e-mail address are at the top of this newsletter, as always. Please include your name, the number of adults, & the number of children, from your family that will be attending. The prices are $20.25 for each adult & $10.00 for each child, age five through twelve. The deadline for mailing your advance payment to Brent is December 2.

Next Year's Events:...

After months of pleading, our orginal Contest Director, Richard Anderson, has decided to organize two big events in 2001. An IMAA "Big Bird" fly-in and our third annual "Nothin But Cubs" fly-in. Stay tuned to this channel for dates & times. Thanks Richard!

Miscellaneous Info...

An event calendar can be accessed from the clubs Website. Please follow the link on the main page to get there. Anyone can use this Calendar and make a posting to a message board. FOR SALE ITEMS:

Our Fun-Fly organizer for the last two years, Mike Rollins is moving to Washington State, after the first of the year. He has some R/C model aircraft for sale that he doesn't want to get damaged in the move. Here's a list of the stuff that Mike wants to sell. Give a call or send him some e-mail. His contact information appears at the end of the list.

1/4 scale "One Design" $260 - I've just stored this one since the day I got it from Dave. It's set up for a 120 FS and I haven't had the heart to cut it up to install a 24cc 3W. There are two JR servos in the wing.

Qty (2) Goldberg Ultimate airframes $80 - one is new from the last swap shop, the other is well used and needs minor repair and recovering

Aurora pattern plane $60 - My old plane from the 80s got beat up in the last move. All wood airframe. Needs to be TLCed and recovered.

Scratch built stik $50 - with 5 servos and HALCO landing gear; $0 without. I already offered this plane to Charlie. Good flyer with a 25 FP and an APC 11X3 prop. This is the plane every one watched me fly the last few years.

Thanks
