I want to express my deepest gratitude to the people who made possible all the projects and work presented here. Very specially I want to thank the students who trusted me as their mentor and Ph.D. thesis director.

This picture includes most of the people with significant contributions to the group from the beginning. Some of them are already gone and some new members are not in the picture. But it is a very dear picture to me since it brought together my first six graduate students.

Esta foto es ya histórica. Algunas de las personas en ella ya se fueron y hay nuevos miembros en el grupo. Pero esta foto reúne a la mayor parte de la gente que ha contribuido al desarrollo de mi investigación y en particular, reúne a mis primeros seis estudiantes de doctorado.
