Brandon Fire Department
P.O. 506 Brandon, MN 56315
<The Brandon Fire Department was founded on January 4, 1889 and has been protecting the Brandon area ever since. We currently serve the City of Brandon, Brandon Township and
portions of Moe and Urness Townships. We protect
properties valuated at over $99 million dollars.
In 2002 we responded to 13 fire calls, 33 medical calls with one fire and three of the medical calls on Interstate 94. We also went on two severe weather watchs and mutual aided neighboring departments on 1 occasion.
In April 2003 the Brandon Fire department applied for a Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA) grant to purchase 8 PASS integrated SCBA's with spare tanks, 9 additional SCBA face pieces and one thermal imaging camera. In October 2003 we were notified that we had been awarded $49,428 from FEMA for the purchase of this equipment. We will be required to locally fund an additional $4942.80 to comply with the grant rules. These units will aid us in protecting lives and property and also greatly improve scene safety for our firefighters.
The department is comprised of 23 volunteers.
Fireman Mike Wagner is shown handing out gift certificates at our 2003 Christmas Party. Thanks Mike!
