Dalton
Dalton is credited with developing the Law of Multiple Proportions.

The law of multiple proportions is so fundamental to chemistry; it is hard to imagine a chemist working without it.

Baking Chemistry

When making cookies, you can increase the amount of flour, without increasing the amount of sugar, and the product is still a cookie.

But according to Dalton's theory of multiple proportion, if you increase the amount of A, you must make increase the amount of B in order to make more AB.
