Cossatot River has it's head waters from the Ouachita National Forest the River is floatable from Forest Road 31 to Highway 246 3 miles and from 246 to Ed Banks low water bridge is 3 miles And from Ed Banks Bridge to the Low water bridge just above Cossatot Falls wich is about 3.5 miles then less then a mile from the Low water bridge to Cossatot Falls landing which is to the Left just above the Falls, If you had any problems get out here. They have Restrooms and some camp sites. The roughest part of the River is from the Falls down to Hwy 4 the most difficult 5 miles, The rest of the river is 10 miles all the way down to Gillham Lake which is just a float trip. Most of the Land in this area is Weyerhaeuser Logging . The Logging Roads are Steep, Narrow and Rough Getting lost on these roads is very easy, But when you do enjoy the view. You can also float south of Gillham Lake to DeQeens 15.5 mile trip
