The Dean of Geotechnical Faculty Varazdin suspended
two professors: Dr. Mato Gazarek and Dr. Matej Mestric.
The Court decided to reinstate them, but they
remain suspended. In spite of legal Court decisions they can not realize
their basic human rights.
Dr. Marijan Jost lost his job as a university
professor at the Agricultural Institute Krizevci in 1993. The Court did
not
find him guilty of any of the accusations made
by the Dean of the Agricultural Institute, and decided to reinstate him.
Till now, in spite of valid Court decisions from
1994, the University has refused to recognize Dr. Jost's legal rights.
The Deans of the Geotechnical
Faculty Vara¿din and Agricultural Institute Krizevci have support
of politically strong, for now not identified person(s). (Strange coincidence
with story about famous Russian scientist Vavilov
and Lysenco - a quasi-scientist in time of Stalin.) The support
enabled the deans to act illegally (for instance: at Agricultural Institute
Krizevci, the Dean Dr. M. Gagro has been holding his own position illegally
since May, 1992, and he is
teaching Dr. Jost's class, for which is not qualified).
Can the Deans refuse to obey the
legal court's decisions?
Is it possible in law-abiding State?

the Republic of Croatia and what are
the real facts.
In meantime:
Dr. Mirko Gagro is guilty for disrespecting decision of the County Court of March 9, 1994. The trial of the same matter (disrespecting Court decisions) against the Dean of Geoechnical Faculty Varazdin, Dr.Gotic - is in process. * On July 17. 1997, a new Rector - Professor
Dr. Branko Jeren was elected by the Senate of

The University Rector Dr. Sunjic and the Minister
of Science Dr. Kostovic even ignored, for the most part, written appeals
of scientists from abroad. Their only response - a letter from the Minister
to U.S. scientist Dr. T. S. Cox was unbelievably non-supporting, full of
pretended informations. It should be expected that a Croatian Minister
of Science,
a scientist himself, would support his fellow
Croatian scientist, not slander him by perpetuating a false version of
events.
