L a b o u r N e t - A u s t r i a http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/LabourNetAustria Email:k.paw.fischbacher@magnet.at; c/o KIZ, Postf.5,1124 Wien Hi, Coppelie Cocq, I got just now your Email. I am the international delegate of the Independent Unionists within the Austrian Union federation ÖGB (in Union elections we represent round 10%). Last year we were engaged in the EuroMarch to Amsterdam June 1997. In the meantime the Austrian EuroMarch-committee consisting of Leftists, the CP, young socialdemocratic Unionists and the Austrian Unemployment-organisation stagnates. I as an initiative member of EuroMarch Vienna startet few months ago a campaign within EuroMarsch for an European actionday for shorthening the working time and a basic income for all in the second half of 1998. I attach for you our proposal for that actionday. The Independent Unionists are also present in the Internet with our Webpage LabourNet-Austria. We are a sister net of LaborNet-igc/USA, LabourNet/United Kingdom and the Korean Labour-movement-net. Our main subject is the worldwide unity of workers, jobless, migrants, working women etc. against the capitalist offensives in and outside the Internet. I think a regulary contact between us would be a further step forward on such a way. Maybe it is possible that we exchange informations. We have no contact to the Swedish worker and jobless-movement and so we are selfevidently very interested in informations and links with you. On the other side we could inform you about Austrian, EuroMarch and LabourNet news. And maybe we will meet us one day on an international actionday against unemployment ... In solidarity, Karl Fischbacher |
Hello Fred I have remarked the very interestings themes and discussions on your congress in january. The most of your problems are our problems. > ...our greatest problems in Sweden is that the state is > planning to end the unemployment benefits for those that have been > unemployed too long! The discussion is whether it is to end after one or > more years of unemployment. What a disappointed act from a socialist governement! In Switzerland too the governement is planing to reduce the period of benefits (actually 2 years) as well the level of the benefits (act. 70 at 80 %). > Our demands from a conference in August are: > Dela på Jobben (Share the jobs) We also debate new models of working. A comittee is collecting signatures for an new law in our constitution. The projected law regulats the redistributing of the avalaible labour. It must been 100'000 signatures for the arrangement of a people-votation. And after the majority of the people and the cantons must maintenance the project. Its a difficult intention. The redistributing of the avalaible labour is one object. An other object is to stop the immens transfer of the social fortune on private property. This transfer must turn back for the creation of employement in the public sectors. > Nationell minimistandard (A national lowest standard of living) This is a point of discussion in Switzerland too > Arbetslöshetsombudsmän (I don't know how to translate that, but it's a person > who is to speak for the unemployed) A good idea! > If its okay with You, I will link your site from mine, so that other > interested people will find You?! It's ok. I will link your site too http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/referendum/indexf.htm http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/referendum/links_f.htm Good bye! Peter Berger |
