They have also cited some of the benefits that he would recieve as a Cuban citizen. It is also notable that, under Cuban law, Elian Gonzalez Brotons' father was to be consulted before his mother took him out of the country, this never happened. The family in Cuba's claims are supported by the Cuban government and many Cuban citizens.
