NAME-OF-DEPARTMENT-OR-PERSON

Dear NAME-OF-DEPARTMENT-OR-PERSON,
I am writing you in support of sending Elian Gonzalez Brotons back to his father in Cuba. I believe that Elian Gonzalez Brotons must be returned to his father immediately for the following reasons:
1. This child has already endured the tragic loss of his mother and the experience of watching his companions on a raft die at sea. He needs to be returned to his home and receive the support of the stable community that he grew up in, right now is not a time for him to be taken from his loving father and grandparents in Cuba. This would be yet another emotional loss to Elian Gonzalez Brotons and could cause him unnecessary emotional distress.
2. Elian Gonzalez Brotons does not have a fear of persecution in Cuba and can lead a wonderful life there. Although some people believe that Cuba is a terrible place this opinion is not shared by most of the world. This is evidenced by a United Nations vote in which 143 countries expressed displeasure with America's embargo on Cuba; only three countries voted approval of the embargo.
3. Elian Gonzalez Brotons was illegally removed from Cuba. This child's father was not consulted before his mother took him to the United States of America.
4. Elian Gonzalez Brotons' father in Cuba has legal custody of this young man. Should America take into it's hands to declare this custody null?
Sincerely,
