STUFF THE JUBILEE in WALES

Tim Richards, chair of Cymru Goch - the Welsh Socialists, was arrested by police at 7am today (Wednesday) on "threatening to cause criminal damage with a stencil". The arrest comes in the wake of a highly successful republican festival organised by Cymru Goch in

Pontypridd last weekend. Cymru Goch spokesman Mike Davies said: "It seems Cymru Goch has rattled a few establishment cages with our Stuff the Monarchy festival. The arrest of one of our leading members is nothing more than a crude attempt to intimidate

anti-monarchists from carrying out peaceful protests and tolock up any dissenters from the jubilee jamboree."

 

 

STUDENT PROTEST

The Joke of Edinburgh came to our un versity for his Jubi-lie thang. The selected few (all hypocrite staff and a hand full of misguided students) addressed him in the main Atrium, while the rest of us (more aware) student body were not permitted to enter our own college. Those who tried to enter - even before he came, were searched and told to produce our ID. A student was even harassed about his student status because of his Irish accent. So I eagerly waited the Joke of Eding to depart the building - organising the students (numbering 100 or so) to either boo or turn their backs on him. As he left - waving in his dutiful fashion we booed and booed while I approached him booing and shouting "Malaka". My other comrades used the opportunity to wave a Palestinian and Irish flag. It was a proud day for me. The Dukes men investigated who I was. It was clear that I was responsible for producing a lot of anti-monarchy material.

 

Then weeks later, I’m called in to the managers office and given a verbal warning ( I work for in the political activist department of the uni) What ironic bullshit.  The written warning hangs on my wall in a frame. I would bloody do it again. The Joke was lucky that I came unprepared for his visit. 

 

 

Hackney: Ed Egged

The most unwanted of all the Royals – Princesses Sophie & Edward were subject to a large protest by local residents furious that council money was spent welcoming the royal freeloaders whilst vital council services were cut. Anti-monarchists succeded in egging the pompous prince.

About 60 people turned up to commerate the Jubilee with a punk rock karaoke. Lots of people took to the mike and sung their guts out, plenty of anti-royal sentiment expressed, stickers and leaflets distributed and even a good old fashioned barney with some royalist (and racist) wankers upon leaving - they left after a brief exchange of views. Only about twenty quid profit made for m'am but importantly some good contacts made with a couple of people who promote other gigs locally and promises made to collaborate on a bigger event soon.
LAG still going strong, still in press a lot following traditional Mayday MP baiting (front page last year, accused of being fascists this year because we had the audacity to heckle the local MP and turn up to the march with anti-new labour blah blah blair banners and placards. the MP's shit smear tactics have been the result of about 150 people turning up to a march that traditionally gets a turnout of about 30 to give him a hard time. The crowd and passers-by pissed themselves as yet again he was made to squirm - one of his 4 or 5 supporters out on the day did manage to respond, not by challenging us but by hysterically screaming at a bus full of disabled people he assumed were a part of our plan to disrupt the M.P's speech as they drove past.
