Welcome to Bill and Peggy's Favorite Books Page!!

We currently live in Moscow and have the opportunity to do a lot of traveling. While on the road or in the air, there is nothing better than a good book to pass the time while waiting on planes, trains, and automobiles!

This page contains some of our favorite books that we have enjoyed in the last year or so. We have linked our books through Amazon.com, so if you click on any of the books you like, you will go to the Amazon.com website for more information.

Historical Fiction
This is one of my favorite Historical fiction books set in the Civil War. If you are wondering what it must have been like to be caught up in the war, this is the book for you. Click on the book for more reviews and information.

This is the second book of the series that continues the story of two brothers who find themselves on different sides of the Civil War. I'm not kidding, once you start these books, you won't be able to put them down! Click on the book for more reviews and information.

Adventure
Classic Dirk Pitt novel! If you haven't read any of Cussler's work, I highly recommend it! The novels take you on adventures around the world with Dirk Pitt, a member of National Underwater Marine Agency. Never a dull moment with Cussler novels! This one is about China's plan of global immigration and domination - interesting and timely stuff!

This is one of my favorite Dirk Pitt novels. Starts in the Civil War with a twist as to what really happened to Lincoln! Dirk ends up in a battle with some evil characters determined to make a fortune off of a nuclear waste disposal project.

Excellent novel about espionage in Russia! The "new Russians" are taking over and greed is the name of the game! Will this cause Russia to revert back to hard-line communisim? Really liked this one because so many of the descriptions of Russia and especially Moscow were accurate.

Nelson DeMille's novel about a Russian prisoner camp where they take kidnapped tourists to Americanize future Russian spys. This is a book that you just can't put down! Living in Moscow, I also appreciated the accurate descriptions of the city.

History
This book is an excellent documentary of the people and events that led up to America's independence from England. It's a great example of how historical reading can be just as exciting if not more exciting than fiction! This book should be required reading for High School students!

This book is an excellent summary of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Learn how the west was explored by the first pioneers and the shocking ending to Lewis's adventure! Click on the book for more reviews and information.
