If things turn out as they should in the coming year, i hope to visit the now free South Africa next summer or fall.
There are numerous concerns unsatisfied that i believe will require more careful consideration than in past and i believe i will continue to have a role in ensuring they are addressed properly. And it seems inevitable that Mr. Mandela also should play an important role in the future of our maturing world. I hope he will receive me as a humble visitor to your beloved country then, as will you. I've never met either of you face to face yet, but we three know how much we have changed each others' lives, and in so doing, have changed the lives of so many others.
I think it's important that we do meet face to face now. So much tragedy has resulted because those who should have met face to face by now have not. We should not allow ourselves to be dragged down to those levels.
So many more changes remain to be made. The good that has been done up to now, for what it has cost us so dearly, should not be sacrificed when mistakes can be corrected with the strength of purpose God has given us to do so.

I'm very happy that South Africa is closer now to having applied "the Christmas message of peace on earth, goodwill toward men" and "a minimum moral level."
I wish my country did, especially if the government is going to go out on trade missions without "principles" to stand for as "all of us" anticipate 1995's certain top news story of the process to expand signatories to the "Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty".
