I would consider that a differentiation from 'disclosure' or 'to
refer' a copy of this to him...and implying TRUST where it seems
impossible to justify it.
It might make a good basis, though, from which to produce
agreement or disagreement with him, either in the House of
Commons or in private...or in private and then in the
House of Commons.
In a "Special Section" of the October 11, 1982 Time
magazine featuring the first excerpt from "Keeping
Faith", President Carter said:
"...There was a kind of game by the press to see if there were questions I could not answer. Part of the reason for this challenge was the aura of morality that I had wrapped around myself, and my commitment not to lie. There was a natural inclination by the press to prove this guy is not as clean and moral as he claims."
In a December 1974 National Press Club speech, he also

Our government can express the highest common ideals of human beings--IF we demand of it standards of excellence.
It is now time to stop and to ask ourselves the question which my last commanding officer, Admiral Hyman Rickover asked me and every other naval officer who serves or has served in an atomic submarine. For our nation--for all of us--that question is, Why not the best?"
In order for us to question and seek change with traditional
adversaries, we must be willing to live by the same standards of
respect for differing, individual potentials. Regardless of the
Trudeau position at Notre
Dame, i cannot be satisfied with the abandonment of human principles of compassion, concern, and yes, moral
responsibility and conscience.
I referred you to Thoreau. Let
me further refer you to one of his contemporaries, Theodore
Parker. As this diplomatic work does involve the
integrities of specific religious faiths, let me quote that he
said:
