Well other than looking at a computer screen, in the grand scheme of things, we are in the sixth dispensation (very likely near the end of the sixth) of the seven dispensations of the bible. A dispensation (or period of time) is marked off in scripture by some change in God's method of dealing with mankind, or a portion of mankind, in respect of the two questions of sin and of man's responsibility. Each of the dispensations may be regarded as a new test of the natural man, and each ends in judgement - marking mans' utter failure towards God. The sixth dispensation known as the dispensation of GRACE; due to Jesus Christs life, laying down of his life for us, and his resurrection, Jesus Christ introduces the dispensation of pure grace. Grace means "undeserved favor" or God GIVING righteousness, instead of God REQUIRING righteousness, as under law. Salvation, perfect and eternal, is now freely offered to Jew and Gentile upon the one condition of faith.
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life." John 6:47
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My word, and believeth on HIM that sent Me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgement, but hath passed out of death into life." John 5:24
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish." John 10:27&28
"For by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, that no man should glory." Ephesians 2:8&9 The predicted result of this testing of man under grace is judgement upon an unbelieving world an an apostate church . Note Revelation 3:15&16 and also 2Thess. 2:7-12. The first event in the closing of this dispensation will be the descent of the Lord Jesus Christ from heaven, when "sleeping saints" will be raised from the dead and, together with believers then living, will be "caught up" to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord." 1Thess.4:16&17
" Behold I shew you a mystery(not known beforehand); We shall not all sleep(die), but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
"Therefore my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."
"Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish; To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life." 2Corinthians 2:14-16
