Who is Jesus?

I'll bet you think this is a silly question; however I think that if you ask many people, you will receive many different responses. Most of the responses will depend greatly on what "religion or theology" you have been taught; or how your church or pastor or minister interprets the "trinity;" not what the scriptures say.

Many times Jesus himself was asked "who he was?" As a matter of fact, he was asked 52 times. We will look at some of his answers here;(if you have any scripture that has Jesus Christ proclaiming himself to be God or even equal to God, please send it to me)

  • John 10:35 "Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?"
  • John 9:35-37 "Dost thou believe on the Son of God? and he answered who is he , Lord that I might believe on him? and Jesus answered Thou hast both seen seen him and it is he that talketh with thee"

    Earlier in the Gospel of John 5:17-22 Jesus had healed a man and the he told the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed him...
    Therefore the Jews sought out to kill him more, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. (Notice that the Jews are the ones that said he was equal with God, not Jesus) Then answered Jesus unto them. "Verily, verily I say unto you; The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do; for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth;and he will shew him greater things works than these, that ye may marvel. For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them, even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgement unto the Son;

    Many churches and christians alike have done the same as the Jews in the Gospels, the religious leaders, and Lucifer himself have done... make Jesus equal with God. Not once did Jesus do that! He ALWAYS bowed to the Father. Lucifers' sin was promoting himself to be God, being equal with God. As I said many popular religions have promoted Jesus Christ to that throne. Throughout the Gospels Jesus repeatedly refers to himself as the Son of God, not God!

    John 5:30 "I can of mine own self do nothing; as I hear I judge; and my judgement is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."

    John 5:37 "And the Father himself,which hath sent me,hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at anytime, nor seen his shape."

    Now, I know I am not the smartest guy in the world. However, I do have a passion for the word, and I must believe that God says what he means and means what he says. I must also conclude that Our Father in heaven wasn't out to trick us. The trinity as taught in most churches today is based on God, the Father; God, the Son; and God, the Holy Spirit.. all of them being equal or being a three headed God.

    I was told from early on that I must believe this. When I would ask for scripture, I would eventually be told I just had to take it on faith. The only scripture ever given to me is in 1John 5:7 and it reads;

    "For there three that bear record in heaven, the Father; the Word; and the Holy Ghost; and these three are one."

    Now if you look at your notes in your bible you will see that it says "it is generally agreed that verse 7 has no real authority, and has been inserted"

    In other words it is not to be found in any early manuscripts of the bible. It supposedly was put inserted to "help" our understanding? I'm guessing it has done just the opposite.

    I can hear you now, NO! I am not saying that I don't believe in the "trinity" I am saying as it says in 1Corinthians 11:3 "But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God."

    Why is it difficult to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and not God. I am in no way belittling Jesus Christs' importance in our life as our Saviour, our intercessor, our mediator, our Lord, OUR BROTHER! Without Christ Jesus we can not get to the Father! Without being born again of God's spirit we cannot hear God or receive God, and definately not understand the spiritual things of God.

    Most all of us have gone through life believing what ever that man on the pulpit or our parents told us, and that their parents told them.. I understand, you are busy and don't have time to look at the "Word."

    Heck, it is quite confusing if you read the "Word" with all the theologies and religious beliefs that have been shoved down your throat from the time you were a little kid. No, wonder most of my generation has turned away from God! Only problem is, they are turning away from "religion" and who can blame them? They haven't been taught that they don't have to turn away from God at the same time!!!!!!

    I will go into some detail and scriptures later. Maybe I will even list all of Jesus' answers to who he is. I thing most people know who he is, it just doesn't comply with the religious leaders of today (and as you will recall... it didn't back then either!) and would make it unpopular to question your pastor, priest, or minister. Although the "word" encourages us to do so!

    I am sure that nothing I say will convince those of you who have had the "counterfeit trinity" shoved down your throats for your whole life. But, God, can. Read His Word and come up with your own conclusions. Keep in mind that I am not encouraging anyone NOT to go to the church of your choice as I believe in the fellowship of believers. I am encouraging you to swallow the meat of what you hear, and spit the bones out! Ask God for understanding. For if we believe that Jesus Christ is GOD, then we must omit most of what Jesus said and most of the New testament. Gods' word "fits like a hand in a glove" and as a recently famous attorney just said.."if the glove doesn't fit.. you must acquit!"

    In the Book of Romans chaper 10 many Christians point to a certain scripture referring to "being saved" notice what it is saying; but most of all notice what it is not saying!

    Romans 10:9 "For if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that GOD hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

    Notice it does not say that you must confess that Jesus is God; and that he raised himself from the dead!!!!

    Remember that Satan wants us to believe that Jesus Christ is God; therefore any of his accomplishments are of no huge magnitude. God can do anything.

    Read for yourselves the overwhelming evidence; think of the scriptures; use the scriptures; John 3:16

    "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Sonthat whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

    17; "For God sent not his Soninto the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

    34; "For he whom GOD hath sentspeaketh the words of God;for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him."

    35; "The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand."

    5:24 "Verily, Verily I say unto you,He that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that SENT MEhath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."

    5:25 "Verily, verily I say unto you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live."

    5:26 "For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;"

    5:27 "And hath given him authority to execute judgement also,because he is the Son of Man."

    This stuff isn't hard just read it for yourself; remember when Jesus is teaching us to pray and he tells us to pray to "Our Father" who art in heaven? He is emphatic throughout the Gospels talking about "Him who sent Him;" "I have come in my Father's name" " I have come to do my Father's will"

    I do not question that; God is spirit; that Jesus is the physical manifestation of God's spirit. As I said earlier, anyone who has a scripture and verse that has Jesus Christ proclaiming to be God... please show me and send it to:
