Jan30-2009-- The interior advisor a former FIA chief indentifies various groups involved in swat which include al qaeda, fazlullah group of taleban, tanzeem i islami, tora bora remnants and the qari mushtaq group...the alqaeda known for its high profile actions is not considered by many to have a real fighting force which are mainly connected with various fata tribal regions and militants coming in from various regions in pakistan...the pakistan army says that it has been fighting rebellious groups throughout pakistans history...in the past the rebellions have had area linkages and popular support bases but not of the present variety which though having the support of religious groups are not supported by liberal political groups and the army does not have too much opposition in the present struggle...as teh militant struggle has no directed political aim...just fighting the government and the army aimlessly or for terrorisation cannot gain popular support and taleban support once climbing has fallen to almost zero...

Jan29-2009--the PPP decision to further privatization after it has been proven tobe a failure as the pakistani private sector has been unable to show any real expertise and no significant outside expertise has been shown to have come to buy...after almost more than two decades of privatization no significant change in teh economy has been observed with shortages and price rises continuing...the structural changes that were reccommended by the world financial institutions were misdirected and have resulted in no significant change in teh economy...and teh government has to intervene and contrl more than ever before...private sector power generating units cannot even keep reserve fuels without government forcing payments..the best move would be to nationalize all power generating units...handling by a single government company would be much easier and might even be a relief for teh consumers who have to listen to government chatter for years for any sort of solution...

Jan28-2009--The sharifs disqualification case becomes a fight between political opponents, judges and representing lawyers who said that the judges had become inflamed and passionate...the judges have the right to rule according to teh constitution which clearly does not give individuals or army officers or even teh national assembly teh right to accept wrongs...taking an oath does not in any way give teh judges the right to approve a wrong, an unconstitutional act or provide legal cover to the wrongs of rulers whose rule is unconstitutional anyway...if the judges feel that they cannot provide redress to a petitioner than why hear the case...?the petitioner in that case would feel justified to ask for non PCO judges...

Jan27-2009--In what many see as a tragic reminder of how military intransigence, free availaibility of arms, challenging mullahs,dictatorship and a civilian facade which is akin to family rule rather than real peoples governance has brought about a taleban dictatorship in swat that is fighting teh militaries attempt to control it...the military and present setup are in a way setting up two polarisations rather than working together to get rid of taleban militancy and the rule of fear and terrorisation...swat was literally the liberal side of nwfp where people from all over teh country could go to see the rivers, hillsides and cooler weather..while it was not on the international tourism list as a must see it was still something for the local populace... it is literally a silent reminder of how a cool place can be turned into a place where violence rules and people fear to tread...with the military and civilian government even frightened of sitting together to discuss how things are being handled the national assembly literally could not identify clearly as to what the situation is with governments position of a slow improvement being termed a lie...with the fazlullah controlled militants literally terrorising teh populace teh ANP which runs nwfp again literally begged for talks with teh cruel minded mullah...the ANP also apologised for one of its ministers insulting remarks in abbottabad probably about the renaming controversy...the military has been apparently clearing some areas but with no civilian setup to backup its work which obviously needs a very strong security system ...teh nwfp government should in the interim appoint an administrator for swat who can handle things that are in the realistic domain...

Jan09-2009--In what many see as the failure of teh zardari system... yusuf raza reacted against his powerlessness and fired the national security advisor mahmud ali durrani...apparently without consulting the cabinet or anyone else...mahmud ali durrani one of the strange choices that teh PPP has made was the musharaf ambassador in washington...like many others he also claimed friendship in new delhi...the current crisis has blackened the faces of many who continued wanting meaningless good relations with india..it all boils down to the indians wanting a scapegoat...with everyone going around yusuf raza gilani...things came to ahead when sherry rehman phoned foreign newsmen that ajmal kasab was appparently a pakistani...many say that his frontal pose confused many..he seems to have a scar around his nose...mahmud durrani had earlier pointed out that ajmal kasab could be a pakistani...the crowing indians immediately started dancing a victory dance...and asif zardari started looking for a new security advisor and again he started looking into musharafs suspect baggage...a change of government should require a new person and a new direction while zardari again wanted musharafs old advisor tariq aziz who kept things from going haywire...that advisor who apparently also made a lot of money also skedadled to teh UK after musharafs fall..one of the two people who fled teh country when musharaf fell......the PPP regime seem to be fans of musharaf and his advisor who kept the indians, muhajirs and troublemakers at bay...many suggest that mahmud ali durrani might be the non state actor although he said that he has done nothing wrong and was allowed to issue statements and always remained within his limits...The PPP has many advisors who function in place of ministers and generally make trouble for a primeminister who cant handle everything...many say that if responsibility is tobe assigned than it is the primeminister who should take responsibility and stand down...
Jan07-2009--The ISi chiefs interview which many see as teh cause of many of the countries problems sees a process as teh enemy rather than the actual culprit...the process can only be caused by something else...the enemy is always a country or a group of people or a cause which uses terror as a weapon...it is therefore always better to eliminate the cause rather than the process because the process has always been there throughout history...the process cannot go away when u have the means...india will always be the danger to pakistan as its mentality is based on itself and not on a region...india can never be pakistans friend and will always be an antagonist...many have been blind to that but with the world watching india's base animosity surfaced inits meanest possible way...a kashmiri primeminister said that we donot want to breakup india but that is untenable when they want a solution to the kashmiri problem...that primeminister is also now part of teh dust heap of history...if as a country and people one does not support the right of oppressed people to seperate than we have nothing but subjugation as a mentality...in teh whole interview the ISI chief only supports the taleban...why is that one may ask...hav'nt they been teh casue of terror too in pakistan and elswhere...?..many saw the armies arrogance in the comment that nobody dares disobey an order or do anything on their own...many suggest that terrorism at best can be termed a temporary phenomenon..if terror succeeds in destroying a country than the processes of governance in that country are at fault..causes of liberation can never be termed terrorism and have been justified thruout recent history...

Jan05-2009--indians becoming washingtons slaves as both use each other to influence region...The US which has indian thinking but is frightened of pushing pakistan out ofits control ambit again with its harsh rhetoric..india wants washingtom to obey its logic without ifs and buts and wants support on the meaningless repatriation of actors that they think are involved..the indians think that wearing of western pants by religious outfit gunmen makes them sophisticated...?The gunmen apparently were unable to implement an ordinary plan and can hardly be termed sophisticated apart from the new method of entry into india...however if the indians want something strongly enough pakistan could ask for something in return too...indians deeply involved in pakistani politics and insurgencies from karachi to fata and pakistan too could ask them to stop doing many terroristically inclined things...india asking for kasabs dna tobe matched with man in faridkot...indians also backing out of commandeering of indian trawler and say that even the dilapidated rubber boat from karachi...earlier reports suggested that teh indians blew up an indian trawler killing several indian sailors...The local LT says that ajmal kasab is an indian snitch and the gunmen had nothing todo with the LT which has its own struggle...
Jan05-2009--many in pakistan say that COAS Kiani is receiving praise for being anti war or an avoider of a wider conflict but clearly telling teh pro indian american generals that the indians will be shot down if they try it again...The US has failed many say because it is rewarding india all the time and causing trouble for pakistan...the indians just play off the US to get what they want from russia..the gunmen have started to become perceived as heros despite their meaningless attempt many say...the pakistani regime has also stood up for them to some extent which it rarely does given its timid outlook...

Jan04-2009--The PPP shows an inability to handle the countries power and gas shortages...the government has shown no sympathy for the peoples problems in continuing price hikes and mishandling shortages..the people's angst is on a short lease and power riots in faisalabad showed that...the opposition too is gearing up to show the governments inability and paucity of ideas...while electricity shortages are usually not difficult to aborb by the public in winter combined with gas shortages and electricity and gas price hikes the government has little sympathy left after almost an year in power and no real successes in governance...the press points out that the almost down and out armed forces and decadent defeated political forces are now again showing signs of a reemergence as their confidence largely sapped by events in 2007 regains strength...The government is barely able to utter there is nothing we can do apart from threatening more price hikes and heavier taxation...
