Sep30--In what is turning out into a real farce the army sponsored PMLq candidate pervez musharafs candidacy was not rejected by the EC despite objections by PPP lawyers and others...musharaf who failed to get a graduation degree from kakul having failed in numerous subjects now says he has a graduation degree from balochistan university and a masters from quaid e azam university which were declared doubtful by PPPP lawyers...he also failed to file an assets declaration...lawyers clashed with police outside the EC and a minister and mqm leader were thrashed...Zafar ul haq says APDM has resignations of 84 MNA's and 152 MPA's ready...If the PPPP also resigns another 170-180 could resign...leaving musharaf little legitimacy...musharaf could still win almost united support if he leaves the army position before the elections...opposing TV channels were blocked during the EC proceedings...legal proceedings could move back to the courts with the possiblity of a stay being issued aginst the presidential polls...nawaz sharif wants an unconditional return while saudis want a reapproachement with musharaf...

Sep28--In what can be termed as the most obnoxious presentation yet the amicus curiae abdul hafeez pirzada who wrote the 1973 constitution turned into a musharaf supporter and said that a provincial assemblies dissolution would not effect the election...when the electoral college is incomplete how can an election take place...the SC has to decide whether musharaf is disqualified from further participation and whether he can participate as a COAS...if the law of necessity a non existing hypothetical law is bypassed than musharaf would have tobe arrested under article six for toppling a government and he cannot participate in politics as his validity even under the 17th amendment ends with the election...the court can decide either to disqualify him or allow him to participate as a non civilian as a special case or tell him that he must step down as army chief to participate...it could also say that the supreme court leaves it to parliament to continue an illegal farce...and disqualification could be left to the EC...however the people expect a good judgement on all aspects of the case to end military rule once and forever...

Sep05--In further confirmation that the defence establishment is the main target of pakistani militants...as two bomb blasts killed 30 and wounded 70...two blasts occurred in the early morning very near the GHQ...a blast occurred near askari11/ qasim market on a defence ministry bus carrying defence officials/isi officials to atomic energy offices near faizabad killing 18 ...another blast on a motorcycle in the RA bazaar killed seven...at least four officers were amongst the dead alongwith numerous civilians...that a bomb could be placed on a defence ministry bus shows that the pakistan army is still not prepared to accept that they are literally a floating under belly for pakistan...poor training, basic security lapses and being mentally unable to accept weakness/reality is the hallmark of the pakistan army...
Sep05--the seven member bench of the SC gave the government upto sep 21 to release all those detained by its intelligence agencies without charge...pakistans intelligence agencies mainly the IB and MI have been taking people into custody and refusing to release/charge them for years...
