Article 8 - Bill of Rights
Section 1. The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, ubless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public safety may require it. No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto law shall be passed. No Capitation,or other direct tax shall be laid, with the exception of a tax on incomes, unless in proportion to the Census or Enumeration herein before directed to be taken. No tax or duty shall be laid on articles exported from any state. No preference shall be given by any regulation of commerce or revenue to the ports of one state over those of another; nor shall vessels bound to, or from, one state, be obliged to enter, clear or pay duties in another. No money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in consequence of appropriations made by law, and a regular statement and account of the receipts and expenditures of all public money shall be published from time to time. No title of nobility shall be granted by Cyberia: and no person holding any office, profit, or trust under them, shall without the consent of the National Assembly, accept any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state.
The National Assembly shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, press, peaceable assembly, bearing arms, from quartering soldiers, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
No one shall bear witness to an unlawful search and seizure, and such search and seizure shall accompany a warrant. The due process of law shall be exercise in any case, and the right to prevent self-incrimination shall not be infringed upon. Speedy and fair trial, including an impartial jury, information of the nature and cause of the accusation, the right to face his accuser, and the right to present a defense, shall not be diminished.
Trial by jury of your peers, no excessive bails, nor excessive fines, nor cruel and unusual punishment shall be excercised in Cyberia. These rights shall not be used as a basis to limit other rights enjoyed by the people. All powers not delegated to Cyberia by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, shall be reservd to the States, or to the people.
Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude (the exception being punishment for a crime committed) shall exist in Cyberia. The rights of citizens shall not be abridged by race, sex, age, color, or previous condition of servitude. These rights shall be enforced by the National Assembly with appropriate legislation and shall pertain to the provincial and local governments as well.
Section 2. No adult person shall be imprisoned or otherwise punished by the law for engaging in consensual acts with other adults unless they physically harm the person(s) or property of nonconsenting others. Congress and the provincial and local governments shall not make any laws criminalizing any such consensual acts.
Section 3. No provision of this Constitution guaranteeing the individual rights and liberties of citizens of Cyberia shall be construed to apply to any other than natural persons. Corporations and other artificial, legal entities are specifically excluded from such Constitutional protections except that the electronic and print media and political organizations shall be guaranteed the right to freedom of speech and of expression and churches and other religious organizations shall be guaranteed the right to freedom of religion. Other than in the case of these two, specific exceptions, corporations shall be considered creatures of the law and shall be subject to whatever regulations or restrictions the legislative body issuing their charters shall deem appropriate to promote the public good.
