Presidential Vacancy
1. The order of succession to the Presidency when there is no Vice-President is:
1.1 the Speaker of the Chamber;
1.2 the President pro tempore of the Senate;
1.3 the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court;
1.4 the Deputy Speaker of the Chamber;
1.5 the Deputy President pro tempore of the Senate;
1.6 the Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court;
1.7 the Ministers in such order as the President may direct.

Presidential Absence
2 Whenever the President and Vice-President are out of easy and effective communication, the order of interim succession to the Presidency is:
2.1 the Speaker of the Chamber;
2.2 the President pro tempore of the Senate;
2.3 the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court;
2.4 the Deputy Speaker of the Chamber;
2.5 the Deputy President pro tempore of the Senate;
2.6 the Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court;
2.7 the Ministers in such order as the President may direct.

Deputy Chief Justice
3. Until otherwise provided by law the Deputy Chief Justice must be designated from among the Associate Justices of the Supreme Court by the Chief Justice. 1
