Hi - welcome to the homepage for

Headwaters Hill !

Thanks for your interest!

Note: On July 12, 2001, the U.S. Board on Geographic Names accepted our proposed name for this mountain. So "Headwaters Hill" is now official! However, I have not yet had a chance to rewrite the rest of this site to that effect. So keep in mind that nothing below this line has been updated.

Below the map, you'll find several links to all kinds of information about Headwaters Hill.

"Headwaters Hill" is our proposed name for an as-yet-unnamed mountain in south central Colorado. Before you leave, please be sure and take a moment to fill out this short feedback form, and give us your thoughts about our idea. (There are links to the form from every page at this site.)

Water on Headwaters Hill flows to three completely different places in the ocean. Please click on this link to learn more about why we think this mountain should have a name - and why we're proposing the name "Headwaters Hill".

In the summer of 1998, I hiked up to Headwaters Hill. You can click this link to take a "virtual hike", by viewing some photos I took on the trip. For what it's worth, this is the author's recommended way to view this site - you'll see all the photos, and have options to view all of the maps.

Or you can choose this link to go to a clickable listing of specific photos.

Please choose this link for a clickable listing of maps which illustrate the location of Headwaters Hill, as well as its geographical significance. From here, you can opt to take a "map tour" of Headwaters Hill, which will zoom you in closer with each click.

This link will take you to a timeline, which shows the history of the effort to name Headwaters Hill, and which includes links to articles others have written about Headwaters Hill.

Please note: when I originally posted these pages in early 1999, I was advocating the name "Three River Point" for this mountain. Since then, a lot has happened - not the least of which, I've met some others who are also aware of this mountain's significance, and who have unofficially been referring to it as "Headwaters Hill". I've tried to edit these pages to reflect that, but if you do happen to come across the name "Three River Point", please mentally substitute that name with "Headwaters Hill". I'd also appreciate if you'd e-mail me and let me know, so I can change it (my address is at the bottom of every page).
