Date: 30 th September 2006 .
We, Burma 's political organisations and community in Australia (allied under the name of Joint Action Committee for a Democratic Burma (JACDB), strongly condemn the military regime, State Peace and Development Council (SPDC), for ongoing harassments and arrest of innocent pro-democracy activists in Burma . Especially, student leaders Ko Min Ko Naing, Ko Ko Gyi and Ko Htay Kywe, whom were detained by SPDC regime without any notice and reason in early morning of 27 th September 2006 . One of them was under medication.
Today, three more student leaders, Ko Min Zeya, Ko Pyone Cho and Ko Myint Than, were arrested by the military regime.
Therefore we are extremely concerned about their safety and well-being of non-violent student leaders and peaceful democracy activists.
This is unacceptable and unlawful act by Burma 's military regime. It has clearly shown that the military regime does not have genuine plans to improve Democracy processes in Burma .
Therefore we strongly demand the military regime in Burma to immediately and unconditionally release these student activists and all political prisoners including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, U Tin Oo and U Khun Tun Oo in Burma .
Moreover, SPDC must stop all offensives against the innocent ethnic minorities and respect Human Rights, peace and democracy in Burma . It's time to begin genuine dialogue with democratic forces in Burma .
We also call on the United Nation Security Council, European Union, International Community and particularly the Australian Government to put stronger pressure and take effective actions against the military regime in Burma to immediately and unconditionally release all political prisoners including Nobel peace laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, U Tin Oo, Khun Tun Oo and newly detain non-violent student leaders.
