Budget Rent a Car

I make no claim that Budget Rent a Car is environmentally abusive or an unfair employer,

but in the area of fulfulling their commitments to their customers, they really stink.

My personal experience with them is that they are irresponsible and

I will never use Budget Rent a Car again.

Here's my story:

To attend the wedding of my best friend, I needed to travel over 500 miles, over 1000 miles round trip.

My mate arranged for the rental of a "mid-sized" car and checked on the arrangements twice on the day the

car was to be picked up. When it came time to get the car, the only vehicles available to us were an enourmous

gas-guzzling truck for which we couldn't afford the gas and a convertible "rag-top" jeep. We took the jeep.

With its stiff suspension, I felt every imperfection in the road as a jerk, a bump, or a lurch. When I got up the

next morning to go to the wedding, I could barely walk my back hurt so much. Another inconvenience was the

rag-top. The wind whistled around it and the noise was so horrendous we had to shout to converse. It would

have been very easy to steal out of the back due to the soft plastic windows and velcro closures, so we could

not leave our luggage unattended in the vehicle while we traveled. When we stopped to eat we had to park

where we could see the vehicle through the restaurant windows, and when we stopped for the night we had to

carry in EVERYTHING that we did not want stolen. This was incredibly inconvenient.

At the Budget Rental Office in Chico, where the transaction took place, the manager took no responsibilty

for failing to provide the agreed-upon vehicle. She had three other normal vehicles on the lot that she

could have given to us, but she refused to, claiming they were rented to others. She refused to rent an

appropriate vehicle to us. She claimed the convertible jeep was a "mid-sized" vehicle and acted as though we

should be thrilled with how classy it was. Her indicated that she didn't care if we rented any vehicle at all.

I was counting on Budget Rent a Car so I could to go to a very important occasion in my life,

but Budget did NOT come through.

A jeep has a large lip below the door to keep water out when you're fording a stream.

Imagine how classy I looked, hiking my wedding finery up to my thighs to get the needed leg room

to get my short stubby legs up into the jeep.

I now HATE BUDGET RENT A CAR and I urge you to join me in hating them too.

They ruined MY trip - they'll ruin your's too.
