Welcome the Beech Mountain Police Department Homepage! We are located in Western North Carolina. The Town of Beech Mountain is the highest town, elevation wise, in the Eastern United States. We are over 5500 feet in elevation. Beech Mountain is a quiet little resort town that only has a few hundred full time residents, but on some of the peak weekends of ski season, our population can swell to nearly 20,000 people. Snow and other hazardous weather conditions are common at our altitude. During the winter of 1996 we received 124 inches of snow.

Our department consists of fifteen members. Ten sworn officers, and five dispatchers. Although our department is not a large one, we attempt to attain the highest level possible of in service training for our members. This policy has, over time, resulted in our department having one of the highest training levels in the state. It is our goal to be as sharp, professional and well trained as possible.

Our Police Department and Town Hall are located on your left, on The Beech Mountain Parkway, a.k.a. Highway 184, just inside the City Limit sign. That is also the location of our E-911 Dispatch Center. We are, of course, open 24 hours, 7 days a week, and the coffee is always hot. We can't make any promises as to whether or not it will be good, but it will be hot.
