The Peace and Freedom Party was the first political party to call for the impeachment of George Bush and Dick Cheney for invading Iraq, passing a resolution to that effect shortly before the invasion actually began. Wouldn't it have been wonderful if more had listened back in February 2003? Of course, the Democrats in Congress still tell us impeachment is "not on the table." Here is the text of the resolution.
WHEREAS George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are openly engaged in promoting, planning and preparing to carry out an aggressive war, which is a high crime and misdemeanor under the Constitution,
AND WHEREAS they, their administration, and their financial backers whom they serve, have all carried on a continuing attack on the rights and liberties of all Americans, and on the well-being of working people,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Peace and Freedom Party calls for the impeachment of Bush and of Cheney, and of the other officials of their administration who have conspired with them and served them in their criminal activities.
