What Surplus?
President Clinton, forever known as "the liar", is now claiming that there is a surplus of dollars with respect to the budget. Even though this "alleged" budget surplus comes entirely from social security dollars, the president is trying to convince, (fool) the American people into a scheme to spend 60% of the alleged budget surplus on "saving social security."
How soon we Americans forget simple math and common sense. For one thing surplus dollars in a budget situation means that the budget makers asked for more money than what was needed. If you went to a department store and purchased something for $100.00 using your credit card, and you got home and noticed that they actually charged you $150.00 what is the first thing you would do? I would hope that you would go back to the department store and demand your $50.00 back.
Bill Clinton believes that the department store should be able tosay to you, "well, we’re having a real problem with our employee retirement pension plan. We’re going to spend your $50.00 to save the program." This is ludicrous thinking. But the snake charmer president is able to convince the American people that the extra money charged them should be spent on social security, a program that is said to be off budget when taxing, but related to the budget when talking about a surplus.
Secondly, how can you have a surplus of money when the national debt is in the trillions of dollars? If you have outstanding debt from year to year, either through a mortgage or credit card debt or both, would you say that you have a surplus if you had some extra money at the end of the month? This too is ludicrous thinking, but once again Bill Clinton wants you to believe that a surplus exists.
Thirdly, if there is a surplus that can be used to fix social security why is the president asking for tax increases? This is talking out of both sides of his mouth, which is nothing new when it comes to this president.
If there truly is a surplus of money after all appropriated spending, common sense dictates that the money should be given back to the taxpayers, regardless of any phony crisis brought up by the liar Bill Clinton.
