November Direct Debit delay

Membership System - November BACS Subscription Collection

We are currently having major problems with the membership system here in Head Office. As a consequence, this month's membership subscription collection by Direct Debit is going to be delayed a few days. We expect the collection to take place on Wednesday 19 November. I am writing to advise you about this on the advice of our bankers, as we clearly have a responsibility to advise people about late collection of Direct Debit payments. We also need to ensure that, should members approach you, you can explain the situation (and apologise on our behalf).

Urgent steps are being taken, with the membership system suppliers, to correct the problem. We therefore expect not to face the same difficulties in December.

Whilst this is a serious problem for us, please rest assured that it will not have a serious impact on the union's cash flow. The union decided last month to realise a profit on our shares so we currently have sufficient additional cash available.
