BT MPG Pay - update |

BT MPG Pay Further to the report in the November issue of The Review this is just a short update on the MPG pay talks. We have narrowed the outstanding issues down to three critical areas – Equal Opportunities, Performance Pay Measurements and Progression. Progress in the talks with BT is still very slow but we hope to be able to reach conclusions on some of the key points in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime the company has published the results of their 1997 MPG Pay Survey on the new MPG Pay and Bonus Intranet site. We have welcomed this development. This site gives an open and honest explanation of the survey data and presents a number of challenges that BT will have to meet if the company is going to win support for the MPG pay processes. Many of the results are similar to our findings and both the BT and STE pay surveys have provided invaluable background data for the current talks.
