SCM is a non-sectarian, inter-school mass organization of Christian students.
It upholds and expresses its faith and love through its participation in the
struggle of the Filipino people. SCM believes that militant and united
action among the oppressed peoples, particularly workers and peasants, is
the way towards breaking oppressive and exploitative structures to bring
about a new society.
Its program and activities include:
Ecumenical Liturgical Fellowship: an ecumenical encounter among SCM members
and other organizations that nurtures indigenous and creative worship
reflective of the Filipino peoples life and struggle.
Study Circles: study group sessions on Philippine history, current events
and Biblico Theological Reflections (BTR).
Worship Dialogues: joint worship between SCM, workers, peasants and other
marginalized sectors in Philippine society celebrating life and struggle
together.
Basic Mass Integration: an immersion program every summer in peasant, worker
and other impoverished communities.
Men and Women Caucuses: help men and women members to identify and
understand the feudal-patriarchal oppression and exploitation of women.
International Solidarity: support to the struggles and concerns of different
countries deepened through exchange/exposure programs.#
