Shivers at Night

My poetry book!!

If anyone out there likes poetry or literature, you may (or may not) be interested to hear that I am at present in the process of publishing a poetry book. It is being published by Minerva Press, London, and is entitled "Shivers at Night". It will be available in Britain and North America later in the year.
This may seem like I am blowing my own trumpet, and in a way I am, but if anyone is interested, here are two of the poems featured in the book.

Desperate Prayer

Space,
Take me into your soothing infinity,
Erase the pain of life with your cold grasp,
Cool the fire which burns in my soul,
Use your immensity to make me whole,
Erase my anguish with your fiery intensity,
Kill painful memory with eternity,
Let life and death mix,
Allow me to walk hand in hand with galaxies,
Purify my spirit with cool starlight,
Cleanse my mind with stellar breeze,
Soothe away my sins with harsh cold,
Cool off hate and bitterness with your chilly embrace,
Let me dance in the clouds,
Singing the song of your elements,
Dancing the dance of your eternity,
Embracing your freezing, timeless space.
Let me forget.

Boats at Night

Endless,
Smooth,
Glittering and glistening in the moonlight,
An expanse of kaleidoscopic greys,
Inky blacks and shining silvery reflections,
Murky blues,
Taking on,
Magnifying,
Throwing back all the subtle shadow,
Of the moon and the stars,
Intensifying their brilliant beauty
A thousandfold,
In it's deep, shifting intensity.
The boat glides forward,
Cutting a silent path
In the velvet waters,
Under a sky of satin,
Silhouetted in the light of silken stars,
Following a constant
Dark path,
Into...who knows what?
Into...silence.
