Woman busted for going topless
REGINA (CP) A Regina woman was busted Thursday for going topless in public.
Police stopped Dolores Uhren after she and her boyfriend drove down the city's
main drag in a topless Jeep for about 30 minutes.
The 44-year-old wore no top while her boyfriend wore a bra. Uhren said she
wanted him to see how it felt on a hot day.
Police pulled the pair over and requested that she put a top on.
Uhren said the provincial justice department is now deciding whether to lay
a charge of indecent exposure.
The controversy follows a court ruling earlier this year in Ontario which
allows women to go topless in public provided it isn't done for commercial or blatantly
sexual purposes.
Uhren said she goes topless on her property outside of Regina and can't see
why she has to cover up when she comes back to the city.
