When Cambridge voters choose a mayor next month, style might have as much
do with their choice as policy and platform.More than 100 people watched Thursday
as the four Cambridge mayoral candidates handled questions at a lively meeting organized
by the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce at the Preston Auditorium.
Henson has a degree in business administration and a diploma in electrical engineering.
The meeting had its lighter moments. Resident Fatima Pereira Henson prefaced a question
with the explanation that she was married to one of the candidates but was still
undecided about how to vote. "Sorry, dear," she said to husband Earl.
Later, after PereiraHenson asked a question that sparked a long debate, it was her
husband's turn.
"Now you know why I should be mayor," he told the audience. "I survived
this for 15 years."
