KNOWN ALIASES: "Gabino", "Comejen" and "Dario"

DATE AND PLACE OF BIRTH: January 25, 1950. San Vicente de Chucurri, Colombia

IMPORTANCE WITHIN THE ELN ORGANIZATION: Second in charge of the ELN - "Ejército de Liberación Nacional (Army of National Liberation)".

CULTURAL LEVEL: Virtually uneducated.

OCCUPATION: TERRORIST & MURDERER.

WANTED for rebellion, conspiracy to comit murder, homicide, terrorism and blackmail. Sentenced to 40 month imprisonment, has never served time.

CRIMINAL RESUMEE

Surviving founder of the ELN.

1966 - 1973. Participates in armed attacks against the civilian population and police force of the following villages: Las Montoyas, Yarima, Los Ajibes, La Viscaina, El Opon, La Fortuna, Centenario, Las Arrugas and La Putana, in the colombian province of Santander. Several acts of murder and abduction where carried out.

1974. Several attacks in the province of Antioquia. Summary execution of members of the ELN movement.

1975. Urban terrorist attacks in Barrancabermeja.

February 13, 1975. Attack on the village of Morales, Bolivar. Execution of unarmed civilian population. Recruitment of youngsters.

Mid 1975. In conjunction with EVELIO LOAIZA MUÑOZ undertook the training of urban terrorists, destined for Medellin.

March 1976. Travels to Cuba with FABIO VASQUEZ CASTAÑO's money. Received terrorist training in Cuba.

1982 onwards. Recruits college students for subsequent terrorist activities.

August 1986. Participates in a nation wide meeting of the terrorist movements in Uribe, Meta, creating the framework of what has been known ever since as the "Coordinadora Guerrillera Simon Bolivar".

1987. Helps build the Union Camilista (UC-ELN) with the alliance of the terrorist movement MIR-PATRIA LIBRE.

September 1991. Sentences the peace seeking and demobilised guerilla "Corriente de Renovación Socialista" to death, and helps send many of its members to their graves.

September 1991. Terrorist attacks in response to the drafting of a new Colombian Constitution.
