For appointing a Day for the Celebration of the Solemnity of the Investiture of His Imperial Majesty. WHEREAS, by Our Proclamation, given on the ____ day of the Month of ______, in the Year of Our Lord _____, We did declare Our intention to celebrate the Solemnity of Our Investiture and of the Investiture of Our dearly beloved Consort, according to the Custom and Tradition of the Empire of Reunion; and whereas We have resolved by the favor and blessing of all the God's to celebrate this Solemnity upon the ____ day in the Month of the _____, in the Year of Our Lord _____: We do, by this Our Proclamation, give notice thereof, and We do hereby strictly charge and command all Our loving subjects whom it may concern, that all persons, of what rank or quality soever they be, who either upon Our Letters to them directed, or by reason of their offices and tenures, or otherwise, are to do any service at the time of Our Investiture, do duly give their attendance at the said Solemnity, in all respects furnished and appointed as to so great a Solemnity appertaineth and answerable to the dignities and places which every one of them respectively holdeth and enjoyeth, and of this they or any of them are not to fail, as they will answer the contrary at their perils, unless upon special reasons by Ourself under Our hand to be allowed, We shall dispense with any of their services or attendances: Provided always, and We do further by this Our Proclamation signify and declare, that nothing herein contained shall be construed to change or alter Our determination whereby We signify it to be Our Will and Pleasure, upon the occasion of this Our Investiture, to dispense with that part of the Ceremonial which heretofore took place. Lord Chamberlain's Instructions for His Highness' Court The following are the Lord Chamberlain's instructions to those wishing to attend His Imperial Majesty's Courts and to Debutantes, which are issued in December of each year:- 1. The Lord Chamberlain announces that ladies already presented at Court who wish to be summoned to attend in order to make presentations during the coming year are requested to make written application to the Lord Chamberlain's Office, so as to reach that office during the first week of January. 2. A lady attending may present one lady, for whom she must be responsible, in addition to her daughter or daughter-in-law. In the event of a lady presenting two daughters or daughters-in-law, no further presentation may be undertaken. The names of the ladies to be presented should be forwarded by the lady who wishes to make the presentation when she sends her own name. 3. A lady presented for the first time can only present her daughter or daughter-in-law on the occasion when she herself is presented, and when possible should arrange for the simultaneous presentation of herself and her daughter. 4. No applications can be received from ladies who wish to be presented. Their names must be forwarded by the ladies who wish to make the presentation. 5. Ladies may be accompanied to the Court by their husbands if the latter have been presented. Ladies who wish to be accompanied by their husbands should state the fact in their application, and they should also state if the ladies they desire to present wish to be accompanied by their husbands. It is essential that their husband's full title and designation be given. Once the summons has been issued the amending of a summons card in order to include a lady's husband cannot be permitted. 6. When making their application, ladies should state the year they last attended Court. 7. Summons are issued to ladies about three weeks before the date on which their attendance is required. Dress worn by Ladies at His Imperial Majesty's Court Ladies attending His Imperial Majesty's Courts must wear Evening Dress or the appropriate House Uniform. Gloves must be worn. There are no restrictions with regard to the color of the dresses or gloves for either debutantes or those who have already been presented.
