TEMPORARY WORK accounts for the second highest rate of workplace accidents after the building industry. A convenient solution for many enterprises, temporary work is becoming a regular feature of the new organization of work. But enterprises often don't place their "orders" until the last minute, leaving minimal or no time for a "running in" or training period. The result is that there are twice as many accidents among temporary workers, who are often young and inexperienced and as a result pay with their health, or even their lives, in the race for ever higher productivity
