Assistant Chief of the Bureau of Criminal Intelligence, Vincent Defilippis is this year's Man Of The Year. Assistant Chief Defilippis began his career with the Division as a Warrant Officer in 1963. He was promoted to Parole Officer in 1965 and to Assistant Chief in 1979.
Assistant Chief Defilippis was instrumental in establishing the Division's Absconder Search Unit and most other policies and procedures relating to the Bureau of Special Services. It is generall accepted that Assistant Chief Defilippis possesses a vast network of contacts in the metropolitan New York law enforcement community and is usually the first contacted by others.
He has either worked on or directed operations on the biggest Parole cases over the last 30-plus years and has been the recipient of countless Commendations from every law enforcement agency imaginable. In 1995, he was awarded the prestigious Brian Rooney Memorial Award for continuous exemplary service by the Division
Assistant Chief Defilippis has been an active member of the Parole Emerald Society for the past twenty years.
