Jay Powers

This year's Parole Emerald Society Man of the Year is Jay Powers, Area Supervisor in the Queens Office. Jay was appointed as a Parole Officer on October 10th in 1968. He steadily moved his way up the career ladder being promoted to Senior Parole Officer in 1986, and to Area Supervisor in 1988.

Area Supervisor Powers has held assignments over the years including the Absconder Search Unit and various supervision bureaus. Jay has been the subject of countless agency commendations including one for his actions during a delinquency situation in 1981 wherein he was nearly stabbed to death.

Jay is a charter member of the Parole Emerald Society and has served the Association in many capacities over the years, including being a delegate to the Grand Council of United Emerald Societies. Jay is currently the PES' delegate to the Division of Parole Awards Committee.
