I think it's interesting that no one has addressed the underlying point of the theory--that America's children are enslaved by boring, unchallenging education systems. I think it was Brad Suspicious that said, "Boredom is the silent holocaust of the masses"--and it's true. There isn't any real culture or tradition that isn't corporate-controlled, look at Christmas if you don't believe me. So what do we do? We turn to alcohol, coffee, things that really aren't necessary for us to have a good time--and it's because we are bored. The same goes for the school system--the students are so bored that they might as well be dead. They go to inartistic, uncultured schools where they are not taught to express themselves but to memorize from a book and then expected to absorb that knowledge for later reference... They sit in classrooms where they are cramped and expected to conform. I don't think I ever spent a day in school where I was free to write what I was really feeling or invited to ask questions about subjects I actually cared about..... I inevitably got so sick of it that I got a job to pay for home-schooling--I may not have had that bourgeois walk down the runway for graduation, but I got more knowledge of myself and what I want. I think at this point I'd like to point out that I've been to the Dallas Museum of Art over two hundred times since I was a junior in high school. I've been to nature reserves, museums, all types of places I know for a fact I would never have been if I stayed in school. Who learned more? My advice to Jason and all of the other 8 to 3 slaves--turn your school into a constant state of revolt. Can you make art? Those walls aren't getting any peachier--litter your school with atavism and sex and good old-fashioned anarchy.....Make fanzines with the most shocking, depraved images your over-hormoned brain can think up and put them in the libraries and counselor's offices. You have access to roughly three thousand people in the same situation in an enclosed area--most organizers would kill for this opportunity. Make some nice stickers that say "US Out of Honduras" and see how many people respond.......... Oh if only I knew what I know now. For example,my friends and I have been trying to abolish some rules at school by getting 500 people to sign a petition to cut-down on the dress code rules. My school sux shit! We get busted for dumb things like: pants being rolled-up, leather jackets(represents slaughter), can't wear blue, red,or white colors on one shirt, saftey pins, etc. Keep in mind that we DON'T have school uniforms, and this is a PUBLIC school. Well, we sent a copy of the petition to the principal, he agreed to it but he made us send it to the school board, the school board said "forget it." Well, getting to the point, the cycle is: students are controlled by the principal, principal is controlled by the school board, school board is controlled by the mayor, the mayor is controlled(somewhat)by the president...and the students control the president. I have every right in the world to go against him. --Doc Pickle
