Saint Francis of Assisi (1181-1226)

The Christian Saint is the author of our "favorite quote":

"We cannot fight against the night!
But we can light a candle..."

Furthermore he preached the basics that all creation of this earth are equal. This is the starting point for equal rights, solidarity and charity that includes animals as well.

"All creations of this earth feel like us. All creations pursue happiness like us. All creations of this earth love, suffer and die like us - thus they are equal works of the allmighty Creator - our brothers."

Though we are atheistic we acknowledge the high humanistic and moral values that he proclaimed.
