To the Editor, I am shocked and dismayed that the "editorial" (and I use that term loosely), "A chat with an anti-abortionist" would even be published in The News Record. I am even more disappointed that Ms. Sidiq USED Ms. Rockenfelder (no doubt assuring her that she was being "interviewed") to spew a venomous hatred that she apparently has been nursing much longer than, and which is about much more than merely the abortion debate, than we can know. The truly sad thing is someone who can condescendingly claim to "like the girl as a person" (she is, after all, a "nice girl") and then criticize her, to put her diatribe lightly, on the basis of race and background. I venture to guess that if Ms. Sidiq's race and background were called into question, she would ask for no less apology than a crucifixion. Simply calling her a "nice girl" would probably suffice. How can Ms. Sidiq assert that there is "no right to be in" when her entire article is a statement of what she believes is right and an unprovoked personal attack on someone she sees as wrong? The column was edited for "explitives"? They could just as well have been left in for all they would have added to the several pleasant little scenarios Ms. Sidiq wished upon Ms. Rockenfelder. Only one person has demonstrated a need to "grow up..." Matthew L.
