IS YOUR EMPLOYER BREAKING THE LAW?

BACK

Has your employer ever talked a worker who was hurt at work out of pursuing a workers’ compensation claim?

If so, it is likely the employer did not report the injury to the compensation Board. If the worker required any medical care, the law says the employer must report the injury.

Non-reporting of injuries is not only illegal, it is fraud. The compensation Board pays employers kick-backs on their premiums if an employer can show a low workplace accident rate. The lower the accident rate, the larger the kick-back.

The compensation Board has set up a snitch line to catch employers which are defrauding the kick-back programs:
You don’t have to leave your name or any information about yourself. You don’t even have to know that fraud is being committed. The compensation Board encourages you to call if you suspect fraud.
