All the Innocent Americans the Government Hasn't Thrown in Prison

When the feds arrested the 12 men and women who have come to be called the "Viper Militia", it wasn't because they were doing anything wrong.

Stupid, maybe, but not wrong.

This site, still very much under construction, will give you a chance to get to know some of the circumstances surrounding the case -- and will also give you a glimpse of several outstanding Americans who are now "serving" time in prison because our federal government will no longer allow you or me the full measure of our rights as guaranteed by the Constitution.

Fundraising

Almost immediately after the arrests, family and friends of Dean Pleasant began seeking ways to raise donations that could help -- either with legal expenses, or with the costs of being incarcerated, or in a PR effort to both salve the reputations of the maligned members of Team Viper, and to "rehabilitate" the notion of militias in the American conscience.

• The first fundraiser was the infamous T-shirt, "The Viper Militia, As Seen By...."
• A "Save the Vipers" Rally was held by the State Capitol, where many donations were collected (and more than a few rubber snakes, daisies, and miniature Gadsden ("Don't Tread On Me") flags were distributed).
• A second print run of the T-shirts became necessary to meet the demand!
• Chuck Knight's friends and family developed a defense fund for his court case; he is the only one of the group to have had a trial, though Chris Floyd's trial is pending.
