Harbison scored 1165 out of 1200 points in the men's 3x40 rifle preliminary round and 98.1/109 in the final for an aggregate of 1263.1/1309. Second place went to Slovenian Rajmond Debevec, 33, with 1262.5 while Eun Chul Lee of Korea took the bronze with 1262.1. Lee was the silver medalist in men's prone rifle at the 1992 Olympic Games.
"He made it look easy," said National Rifle Coach Bob Mitchell. "He went into the final in fifth place with 1165. He shot a 98.1 in the final to win the gold medal."
Harbison's fellow Olympian, Glenn Dubis, 37, (Bethel Park, Pa.) finished out of the final, tied with teammate Ken Johnson, 27, (Marshfield, Mass.) at 1154/1200.
In men's free pistol, Neal Caloia, 26, (Cottage Grove, Ore.) was the highest scoring U.S. shooter with 548/600 points. Caloia earned a spot on the U.S. Olympic Shooting Team in April. Daryl Szarenski, 28, (Saginaw, Mich.) finished with 537 points.
The free pistol gold went to China's Yifu Wang, 35, with 665.2/709 points. His teammate, Dan Xu, 27, won the silver medal with 665.0. Russian shooter Mikhail Nestrouev, 27, was third at 663.9.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Three-time Olympian Glenn Dubis (Bethel Park, Pa.) won a shoot-off tie breaker to capture the bronze medal in men's free rifle prone at the 1996 Munich (Germany) World Cup, May 28.
Dubis, a captain at the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, scored 595 out of 600 possible points in the preliminary match to put him in a three-way tie for third going into the final. His final round score of 103.4 tied China's Lijia Ning. Dubis shot a 10.7/10.9 in the shoot-off to win the bronze medal while Ning shot a 10.3 for fourth place. Serguei Martynov of Belarus won the gold medal with 702.3/709 while Germany's Olaf Hess shot 702.2 for the silver.
Olympians Bill Meek (Upland, Calif.) and Eric Uptagrafft (Spokane, Wash.) finished tied with 589.
In men's air rifle, Rob Harbison finished sixth after firing 593/600 in the preliminaries and 102.5 in the final. Austria's Wolfram Waibel won the gold medal with 698.8/709. Evgeni Aleinikov of Russia took the silver with 698.4, and Anatoli Klimenko of Belarus finished third with 697.1.
Olympic alternate Bob Foth (Colorado Springs, Colo.) shot a 584, and Dubis finished with 578 points.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Eighteen-year-old Jayme Dickman, a 1996 Olympic shooting team alternate, captured the third U.S. medal on the final day of the 1996 UIT Munich (Germany) World Cup, May 30.
Despite problems with her equipment, Dickman finished the women's air rifle preliminary round in a three-way tie for third place with 395 out of 400 points. She fired a 101.9/109 in the 10-shot final to earn the silver medal with an overall score of 496.9/509.
Dickman's teammate, Nancy Napolski, 22, (Downers Grove, Ill.), finished out of the finals with 390/400. Elizabeth Bourland, 32, the third U.S. shooter in women's air rifle, was a point behind at 389. Napolski and Bourland qualified for the U.S. Olympic Shooting Team in April.
In men's air pistol, Daryl Szarenski, 28, (Saginaw, Mich.) was the highest U.S. finisher with 579/600. `96 Olympian Neal Caloia, 26, (Cottage Grove, Ore.) shot a 574.
The men's air pistol gold went to Bulgaria's Tanu Kiriakov with 689.2/709. Sorin Babii of Romania shot 686.5 for the silver, and Italy's Roberto Di Donna was third with 684.9.
Two-time Olympian Connie Petracek, 48, (Nashville, Tenn.) turned in the highest U.S. score in women's sport pistol with 574/600 points. Rebecca Snyder, 19, (Grand Junction, Colo.) was a point back at 573, and Libby Callahan, 44, (Upper Marlboro, Md.) finished with 570.
Nino Salukvadze of the Republic of Georgia won the women's sport pistol gold, firing 591/600 in the preliminary round and 102.7/109 in the final round. Svetlana Smirnova of Russia finished with 686.0/709 for the silver, and China's Yan Liang was third with 685.5.
Women's air pistol competition, May 29, saw Smirnova take the gold medal at 485.5/509. Her teammate, Olga Klotchneva, finished three-tenths behind at 485.2 for the silver. Salukvadze took the bronze with 484.1. Callahan was high scorer for the U.S. women in air pistol with 378/400.
