This is the Sniper II when I bought it. It was pretty much stock, with the exception of the bolt and the grips. It had the following items:
A "normal" player would have bought an aftermarket barrel to replace the stock one as a first "upgrade". I didn't want to buy a brand new barrel, and I couldn't find a used one for a reasonable price, so I ended up getting a regulator, which is also as important as a good barrel. I found a nice deal on a used Air America Vigilante, and since I already have one on my Autococker, I thought I could save some money on spare parts. So here is how it looks like after this first "upgrade":
Note that the Vigilante is shown with a male nipple attached to it.
Next, the beavertail. I don't consider the beavertail as an upgrade. I do consider it as a "must have" accessory. I guess that back in 1996, Snipers II didn't come with a bevertail, huh? So I got myself one! If your Autococker or Sniper doesn't have a beavertail, and you want to buy one, make sure you get the right one. There are beavertails that fit behind 45 frames, and there are beavertails that fit behind stock frames. In my case, I had to get one that fit behind my stock frame. Check it out:
Finally, an aftermarket barrel! After spending some time searching the Internet for a used barrel, I managed to get a nice deal on a used 14" stainless steel DYE barrel. I can tell you that it does look pretty. Take a look at the final result!
Some people say that the stock bolt is the best bolt. Well, since I didn't have the stock bolt to begin with, I decided to change it. I bought myself a bolt that most Sniper II owners buy: a custom delrin bolt by Chipley Custom Machine. It is very light and very smooth. Check it out:
This is how my Sniper II looks so far. Oh and in case you guys didn't notice, I've added a home made pump return spring. I had an old Autococker main spring, and it fit perfectly around the pump guide. The pump action is much harder now, but at least I don't risk the bolt coming back once it's cocked... :-)
It is complete! Check it out! It has everything that I need! Isn't she beautiful!? The Diamond Labs stock really helps. I played with it already, and it did make a difference. I feel like I'm shooting a much more stable marker. I recommend a stock to every pump player out there.
There's nothig else left for me to do other than play with her. The only thing I might replace is the stock frame with a 45 one, but I really liked the pivot trigger. If I could just find a 45 frame with a pivot trigger...
OK, so I just couldn't keep myself from spending more money on the Sniper II... It was perfect, but I just had to find a way to spend money on it... So here's the result:
What's new (or different):
Well, since I can't seem to stop spending money on paintball stuff, I decided to sell this baby. But not because I'm out of money, but because I've built a Custom Sniper II, and I really don't need two Snipers II. I've changed some parts on it before selling it, and this is how it looks like right now:
After posting ads all over the Internet, and after reading complains from a bunch of people saying that the price was to high, I've received an e-mail from a very nice guy in Hawaii with a trade offer. He wanted to have my Sniper 2, and he would send me his Grey Ghost. Needless to say I took it! So this is what I have now instead of this Sniper II...
