WLAF Sees New Life in Europe

The World League of American Football, which suspended play after
losing about $20 million in two seasons, could resume next year if NFL
owners approve, NFL president Neil Austrian said yesterday in Barcelona.
Austrian said two "international media partners," whom he declined
to identify, approached the NFL with joint-venture proposals for an
all-European format. He said he hoped a concrete offer would be made to
NFL owners in September.
"We're going to go forward if we find a partner," Austrian said.
"I'm real optimistic, it's the right thing for us to do. But the clubs
have the final word and you never know how they'll vote."
