Another guest report by Billy The Bridge

If there's one thing I hate more than a bad loser...........is an equally irritating BAD winner ! Arsenal supporters certainly come under that category. All one hears throughout the game is......"that was never offside" and "Bergkamp never touched him" as well as "Desailly- he's holding Adams Shirt"......"Oi Ref, are you in Vialli's pocket", which sort of sums everything up.

In truth though, we never really looked like a team that wanted to win, not in the first half. We were second to most balls and our midfield maestros in Di Matteo and Wise, were sadly more like the British Leyland Misfits, which we all learnt to love to hate. They showed none of the passing skills we know they possess and put in a performance that I can only describe in an anecdotal sort of way - as lacklustre. Vialli was no better, as he trotted around the park like a horse put out to graze and was superfluous to requirements. Perhaps if we had put Forssell out earlier, it may have been a different game.

The funny thing is that until those annoying smug bastards scored, it looked like the game was going to be a stalemate.......and it should have stayed that way until Mein Bergkampf and Undermars did their usual Nazi style Panzer division of bulldozing any opposing player that happens to be in the way, this time it was Petrescu who was felled by Undermars and Bergkamp cooly slotted home. Only a blind man in Australia would have failed to see the Dan was clearly fouled.....but when you have a Man such as Pol Pot in charge - forget it! Of course it wasn't long after, that Duberry had his legs removed by Bergkamp, and only those above(or at the FA) know why he wasn't removed from the pitch. Still you must feel sorry for Arsenal, as so many of their players have such a rich and cultured temperament, you wonder why referees even question a decision when it involves them......and clearly Poll didn't !

The second half was a slightly different ball game. We constantly put pressure on the solid Arsenal defence but still we could not impregnate them. (the mind boggles ! Priesty) We always seemed to slow to shoot or put the RIGHT final ball in. Every cross went straight to Seaman, and every chance outside the box was hurried into nowhere land. You can't win every game, and I suppose our 21 game unbeaten streak had to end eventually. It's just a shame that it was to one of the teams threatening our first REAL chance at winning the title for decades !!!
