Bridge Climb

Early one day we set sail for a three hour tour, a three hour tour.

That initially seemed like it would be a long time to climb up a bridge and back down but there was a lot of preparation that went into it. We had to change into these jumpsuits so that everything we needed could be tied down to the suit. Hats, glasses, hankerchiefs, headsets and other things were all tied down so there wouldn't be any danger of it falling onto traffic below.

At the highest point, we were just over 130 metres (380 feet) above the water. We had an excellent guide who gave us all the history of the bridge and kept us generally entertained. As we reached the peak, there was a Korean news crew filming so we might have made it onto KTV or whatever it is they watch.

Although your faithful narrator was skeptical about this particular portion of the trip, he can now say that he is quite pleased it was not passed up. And so was the souvenir shop.

The whole climb group. The couple in front of Sherry has lived about 2 blocks from the bridge for 15 years. It was their first climb.

Good thing they had these pads all over. Your narrator hit his head quite a few times.
