COACHING JOBS: Assistant at Kansas, 1982-85; assistant at Pittsburgh, 1985-88; head coach at Massachusetts, 1988-96; head coach and executive vice president of basketball operations for NBA's New Jersey Nets, 1996-99; assistant for NBA's Philadelphia 76ers, 1999-2000; named head coach at University of Memphis on Saturday, March 11, 2000.

RECORDS: 193-71 at Massachusetts, including five Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season and tournament championships; 11-5 in five NCAA tournaments, including Final Four appearance in 1996 and two National Invitation Tournament berths; 72-112 in regular season and 0-3 in playoffs with New Jersey Nets.

HONORS Named national coach of the year in 1996 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, the Naismith organization and The Sporting News.
