NEW YORK, Jan. 20 -- Allen Iverson of the Philadelphia 76ers today was named
NBA Player of the Week for games played from Monday, January 12 through Sunday, January 18,
edging Tom Gugliotta of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Allen Iverson averaged 25.3 points and 7.6 rebounds last week as the Sixers went 3-0.

Iverson led Philadelphia to a 3-0 record during the week by averaging 25.3 points,
7.6 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 37.7 minutes per game. He had a 3.3:1 assist-to-turnover
ratio, shot .520 (26-for-50) from the field and ranked eighth in scoring among league-leaders.
The 6-0 guard from Georgetown began the week with 17 points, 10 assists and five rebounds in
Philadelphia's 107-89 win against on Vancouver on Tuesday, January 13. He had 31 points,
six assists and three rebounds as the 76ers defeated Chicago 106-96 on Thursday, January 15,
and closed the week on Saturday, January 17, with 28 points, seven assists and five rebounds in
a 112-84 defeat of Golden State.
